Elizabeth Reaser, an American actor on film, TV and stage, is most well-known for roles such as The Twilight Saga as well as shows like Greys Anatomy or True Detective. An audition tape was sent to the producers, along with another tape of her doing MMA. When she asked if she is capable of doing sword fights, she promptly sent the producers a video. Jessica went through the script and knew the character would need weapon training. Her first video was recorded training session with a professional after having read the script. Jonathan Glassner says that her stunt team was pleasantly surprised by how well she did in her initial lesson. Jessica had never been in any major roles before the US, as all of her filmography was in Australia. Jessica can portray her powerful female character thanks to her love of combat, mixed martial arts abilities as well as her horse riding, weapon and firearms abilities, and her athletic abilities. Jessica is a boxer who has been trained, muay Thai and mixed martial artist. Jake Stormoen was working on Season 4 of the show and was in the process of meeting a dog which was spotted on the sets. One of the pups resided on one of the set. Jessica fostered at least two of the puppies.
